On the border of Sheffield and Tuscumbia, George D. Romans and his wife Ester lived in a small, blue-collar home. Using a roll-top desk in the back room of his house, George founded Romans Lock Service in 1945. Before Florence became Alabama’s Renaissance City and before Muscle Shoals became The Hit Recording Capital of the World, Romans was serving the Shoals.
